Effective, Engaging, and Sustained Professional Development for Educators of Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Students - A CAL Commentary
This commentary outlines CAL's comprehensive approach to professional development (PD) and present some preliminary results from the implementation of tools based on CAL's six standards of effective, engaging, and sustained PD and additional tools to evaluate the quality of PD, including surveys for participants and facilitators, as well as an observation rubric used to support and train new and current CAL facilitators. These tools are meant to ensure that all stakeholders in the PD process are considered and supported before, during, and after the delivery of PD services.
